Nov Prayer for Europe

First Friday Fast:
The first Friday of every month is a day of prayer and fasting

We pray and intercede for our World Mission Ministries Bishop
He has a very full plate in all that he does. We pray for his family. We pray for good health that God will touch him and keep him strong.
We pray as he make decisions for the wisdom of God will continue to guide him and direct him in all that he and the WM Board does.
We thank God for their leadership.

PRAYER FOCUS: Praying for Europe

Pray for:  SOUTHWEST EUROPE     Lin and Nancy Berry
PRAISE REPORT:
I had asked for prayer for our grandson and wanted to let you know that he is doing so much better
Our daughter and family are doing well in Ethiopia just talked with them yesterday and all are happy
We praise God for our leadership team who step up to the plate and did  very good ministry during the summer months
Lin and I will continue being the senor pastors of the church in Madrid but we are able to give more responsibilities to our leaders
The crisis has hit hard here but in spite of that we have people in our churches who have not lost their jobs and do pay their tithes
We are still planting churches and extending our boundaries

PRAYER REQUEST:
We are looking into branding CReA (culture center) to be reproduced throughout Europe
The ministry of the culture center is to reach people who normally do not enter into a church… it is a great tool for evangelism
People in our churches have brought their bosses to an art show and were very impressed by the culture center and when Lin would go and talk with them they were VERY OPEN to the gospel
It opens so many doors for us to share our faith
I will be having a WOMEN’S ENCOUNTER this Sunday in CReA we were going to have it last Sunday but had to postpone till 3 of Nov
Pray as they gain confidence in Christ Jesus that they will be healed of past wounds, be set free from strongholds of sin and receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
We will be traveling to the south of Spain to have a special meeting with our churches on the 10 of November
We pray for God guidance, direction and wisdom

1.       Our worship leader who has taken strong stands against the lethargy of the worship team. He has grown strong and took a strong and brave decision to suspend the worship team until further notice.
2.       The unity that is growing between us and several churches. We are really working close together. One pastor put up an office for me in His church because I do not yet have one in ours. I am using it for Global Institute of Theology work as well.
3.       Completing my graduate Greek I&II and will be starting III on Monday. I got very good results on the Greek I and I am waiting for the result of II.

Pray for Pastor Peter and family
PRAISE GOD FOR
The church paid off its extension fund loan and is progressing on the completion of the final phase of remodel of its building.

Pray for the Mark and Jeannie McClung

Colossians 4:2-3 says…..“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message,
so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains” (Colossians 4:2–3, NIV).
We are not in literal chains as Paul was, but we do serve in an area where many are resistant to the gospel.
  • Pray against evil forces that would seek to hinder the spread of the gospel.
  • Please pray for individual hearts to be open and receptive to God’s truth. Pray that God will lead us to hearts ready to receive His Word.
  • Pray that God will open doors of ministry, blessing partnerships and friendships.
  • Pray that we will be led by the Holy Spirit and recognize open-door opportunities.
  • Pray that God will give specific direction regarding our church planting endeavors.
  • Pray that our missionary support account.  Please pray for new monthly supporters and/or gifts to bring it out of a deficit.  We hope to complete our 3 year term!
Your prayers have an impact that can reach around the world!  Thank you for praying for us and our European colleagues!
Grace and Peace to You!  Mark & Jeannie

Bill, Gretchen, Rachel & Ryan
Things in Belgium are moving along. We have a few praise reports to share:

1) Our newest church plant just moved to every Sunday services. We have been meeting only two Sunday's a month. However, our ConnectGroups have been meeting every week. We are very excited to have our official dedication service November 24th. Harold Presley will be our guest speaker.
2) We are very thankful that SOWer Jennifer Moore from the Cornerstone Conference is with us for a few weeks. She came to help us in Children's Church as we are now in every Sunday services.
3) Bible School is going well. It's a rebuilding year as we had a lot of students graduate last year. Gretchen and I are serving as interim administrator due to Mau and Lulu itinerating the next few weeks in the States.
4) We have had a lot of open doors to teach and minister in several different venues: Schools of Ministry, Continental Theological Seminary and young adult retreats. This has allowed us to build some new relationships.

Prayer Requests:

1) We're praying and seeking for a SOWer for Children's work. The tasks we need is three fold. First, to serve as our children's leader in the new church plant. Second, to create a children's outreach. And third, to train children leaders in other churches. Please pray with us.
2) We will be engaging in some new areas of outreach in the coming months. We are wanting to be strategic and more effective.
3) Continued language skills in Dutch!
4) I (Bill) will be in the States the entire month of February. Please pray for effective fundraising, my family, and for our new church plant during this time.
Blessings,
Bill, Gretchen, Rachel and Ryan

Praise report:  Enjoyed our time in October with Bob cave and the various young adult leaders planning for EuroQuest 2014. The continent is in safe hands with these great young people! We also had a good time in Romania at the conference center at Suncuius and DCPI. I have just finished a week of teaching in Ukraine with Paul and Beverly Oxley. 23 students were enrolled. We had a lot of fun, food, and fellowship. The Ukrainians are such wonderful people! We will be going to Germany for the next DCPI in December. This is a great program...pray that it catches on to the national churches...Romania has a good start! Pray for my visa/work permit situation...it appears everything is in order, but this time because of the status of the church in Hungary they have asked for more paperwork. When you think you have it all together...something always comes up!  I am asking for a five year work permit.  Thank you all for prayers and all your encouraging emails and facebook thoughts... love my fellow missionaries! God be with you around the world today!

2. For the social projects our church is involved in, for the way God provided so far to meet the needs of the people that are part of these social projects
(Kitchen Meal, After School, A Chance For a Better Life)
3. For Angela and Ismail in Turkey and the mission field

The Art of Missions (and the mission of the arts)

The Art of Missions (and the mission of the arts)

Lin and Nancy were ordained as IPHC missionaries in 1986 in a group that included Steve and Betsy Cofer, Bob and Carol Cave, and Gary and Kathy Petty. All of us are still actively serving the Lord and the IPHC in missions today. None of us could have imagined then the journey, with its many twists and turns has brought each one of us to where we are today, 27 years later. What a ride!
Nancy and I went to Spain. There was no IPHC work there back then. Our job description in the words of B. E. Underwood was to, “dig us out a church.” We began in Madrid in the living room of our apartment when our next-door neighbor received Christ. From that small beginning the IPHC work grew. In Spain today it consists of a Conference of 13 churches, a Bible institute and a number of creative ministries that include such diverse outreaches as food banks, soup kitchens, cultural centers and an art gallery.  An “art gallery” you might ask? How in the world does that fit into missions? Let me try to explain.
For the first 15 of these 27 years in missions, our focus was exclusively in the “religious” realm. Some might call it apostolic. It was all church based and quite traditional both in message and methodology. We planted several churches, started a Bible school, organized the Spain Conference and sent out pastors.
That changed when one of our church planters was struggling financially with a new church in a difficult area. I was praying for him, and happened to be working at my hobby, painting. “What might we do Lord to help Rafa?” “Use what you have in your hand.” I looked down and saw that I held a paintbrush. So I made a painting and from it 300 limited edition prints. We sold most of them and with those funds paid a salary for Rafa for a year and a half; just enough time for him to get up and running.
Since then art has opened more doors than we could have ever imagined. We planted a church in an art gallery, that church is today one of our most dynamic churches. We have all manner of evangelistic events related to the arts. Europeans who won’t attend a church will come to an art show or concert. And the arts have given us a platform for testimony in society, media, and even reaching into politics and government. My paintings and limited edition prints are found in more than 400 collections, homes, churches and business across Europe, the USA, South America and even Japan and China. I have shared my testimony and made friendships with politicians, business people, diplomats, Muslims, atheists, secularists, spiky haired youth and more than a few self proclaimed “rednecks”.
The arts have provided funds and other resources for ministry. Since 2006, the sale of artwork has funded 100% of our travel on and off the mission field. It bought us the car that we drive in Spain. Curiously, through the purchase of paintings even secular non-believers help build the Kingdom of God.
My grandfather was an artist. He once told me that a man who worked with his hands is a journeyman, one who used his hands, and his head is a craftsman, but one who applies hands, head and heart to the task is an artist. “Whatever you do son, be an artist.” In any task where work, craft and passion come together, art comes forth.
Our job description has grown over the years. I am IPHC Regional Director for Southern Europe, Superintendent of the Spain conference, pastor of the Madrid church, a teacher at the Mustard Seed Institute, and I have a number of young ministers that I mentor. Nancy is the director of the Mustard Seed Institute and WIN director for Europe and the Middle East. We never stopped preaching, praying or exercising leadership or being a “real missionary”. But yes, I am also an artist. Missions is more than a task intelligently carried out. It is a passion to see the glory of the Lord cover this earth as the waters cover the sea. It is finding a way to use whatever means at hand that some might have the opportunity to meet Jesus. That is the “art” of missions and (at least for us) the mission of the arts.
Finally just as surely as Michelangelo could not have painted the Sistine chapel without the sponsorship of the pope and Da Vinci would have never survived without the patronage of the Duke of Milan and the King of France; we cannot do this without your help.  Art and Missions survive on patronage and sponsorship. The challenge today has never been greater. The harvest is truly white. We are reaching more people and doing that more effectively than ever.
You can help in a number of ways:
Nancy and I need a major increase in our monthly faith commitment support.
Please check our art website: www.linwoodberry.com. Consider purchasing some art.
We would also like to share our testimony and art with you and your friends. We have an event that we call “Art with a Mission”. It is a low key, low cost but very effective tool to reach your friends and neighbors with the arts. Contact me at lin@semillero.org for more information.
Thank you for your patronage that make the art of missions possible,

Linwood and Nancy Berry

WIN PRAYER LETTER FOR APRIL 2013

First Friday Fast 5 of April

PRAYER FOCUS: Praying for Europe

Pray for:  SOUTHWEST EUROPE     Lin and Nancy Berry

Praying for the activities in CREA the outreach and CULTURE CENTRE:

  • All night prayer on the first Friday fast every month… also have 24/7 prayer every day of the week.
  • Pray for our basic  Discipleship classes we have for new believers
  • Pray for our music school every Saturday morning…

we have a lot of non-believers coming in from the neighbourhood

  • Pray for the “Mustard Seed Institute” on-going training for leaders and pastors
  • Pray for the men’s encounter April 14

Here in Spain just about every building or wall in the cities have graffiti or it is spray painted by the neighbour youth. So after many times of trying to keep the front of our building clean… Lin decided to paint a Mural… I think it looks great!!!

An answer to “The Crisis”

We have many people in Spain who have been out of work for over a year. Unemployment is at its highest. The social government has wasted and spent more money causing the country to go down with bankruptcy, many factories and companies have closed their doors leaving many people out of work; Many  have lost their homes and everything they have worked for years. It is sad to see what is happening to this country… WHAT CAN WE DO? One of our churches have found an answer: our church in Toledo… an answer to The Crisis!!!   A SOUP KITCHEN … the government has given this church a building and they will be opening a soup kitchen this month

Pray for our Pastors in Spain

Pray for Gary & Kathy:

4. Kathy's been sick with allergies and requests your prayer.

Thank you for your prayers!

Pray for Italy Jeff & Miranda Weaver

Pray for France

Here things were really, really difficult and stretching these last six months.  The enemy tried to hit us on all parts.  We have literally “hibernate” cuddle up together in the very close presence of the Lord in the storm.  But we nevertheless had the force to do what recommends the Apostle Jacques, we withstood the enemy with a strong faith and we’ve noticed that he finished leaving slowly but surely the place and we feel the pressure is diminishing.  The Lord brought us through all the health, job, finances, family tests and trails, which we had to overcome successively.  The Lord gave us colossal victories through prayers and our hearts overflow with gratitude for the care that He takes of His people.

Thank-you to pray so that Valerie can receive a job with a good salary in which she actually will be able to blossom (one of the two handicapped children of which she cares will leave the school in May, therefore we don’t know if her work will be maintained in the school of Malissard).

Thank-you to pray for Claude (mason) who has health problems and need a new job closer to his house, corresponding better with the family schedules and less exposed physically.

Thank-you to pray for Delphine, who just got born again (divorced mom with three boys raising them alone, after hard battle through her family situation).  She just obtained a miraculous new "social" housing.  She began to study to sit a competitive examination in the National Education.  May the Lord give her favours for a new job, well paid and peace in her family circumstances.

Pray for our Nation that the will of God supplant the will of the wicked ones.

With much love from here – Pr Babeth Chorel – Eglise Siloe

Pray for Malta          Pastor Joe Agius and family.

  2. The move of the Spirit in the church services.
  3. The restoration of several relationships
  4. Joint Bible studies with Live Seed Pentecostal church at Word of Life PH Church which started on Tuesday, March 26.

Please pray for:

  1. unity between churches keep on growing
  2. unity between brethren will become stronger
  3. wisdom to deal with particular church members
  4. Time management to update paper work for Global Institute of Theology with the Malta Qualifications Counsel.

Pray for Portugal       Tony and Patti Guasco

Well, support raising is going well on paper. In the churches we are well received, in fact we have already raised all of our support, but it is just not coming in.  That's the good and the bad.  We also need a 15,000 -20,000 in our account because we are at or close to zero and therefore once we buy tickets and rent with deposit for a month we'll be deeply in the red again.  We are asking for someone to come and help us in Portugal.  When we have to leave the work for furloughs it suffers.  Tony

Just got this news:  Please pray for Tony... His father just passed away...

Pray for Brussels, Belgium

   Mauricio and Lulu

Here are some prayer requests:

In our work in Brussels we have been experiencing a severe attack of the enemy upon members, church and even family all together at the same time. I think that we are getting close to some victory, but still the battle had been very hard. We have lost some members of the church and not even for a clear reason, they just "felt lead to leave" others have stayed but have a troubled heart and tension is clear in between the relationship of the members. One even said that the people left because all the preaching in Logos is done in the flesh and when I asked who's preaching he implied everyone that even has come through to preach. Another one said that in the church there is only spiritual manipulation. So as you see, we are needing serious prayer in order to get the enemies' plans our of our church, members homes, our family, church finances, etc. It's evident to me that the enemy is in serious work.

We don't forget that we are more than conquerors but still it is written pray without ceasing.

Pray for the members to be established firmly in their faith and in the church and that all wounds may be healed.

Pray for the ones still in the church but doubting, if they are leaving, then may they do so.

Pray for the new converts because 4 of them have noticed and are very troubled.

Pray for the homes, so that only edifying conversations go on.

Pray for me and my family so that the enemy doesn't gain advantage over us and destabilize our home, finances, focus and relationships through his attacks.

Pray for the finances of the church that evidently are suffering.

Thank you and blessings:
